The Limited Community of Property Act has been in effect since January 1, 2018. You no longer marry under the regime of full community of property, as was the case previously.
This law also applies to registered partnerships.
However, it is still possible to draw up a prenuptial agreement or a partnership agreement.
The introduction of the Limited Community Property Act has brought about quite a few changes compared to the original community property regime, particularly with regard to assets, debts, and inheritances.
If you were married under the community property regime before January 1, 2018, the terms in effect at that time remain applicable.
